Toyota Merit Membership |
| 1. |
Toyota Merit is an exclusive, by invitation only programme created specifically to reward our loyal customers. |
| 2. |
Toyota Merit Programme is managed and operated by UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT). |
| 3.
Only Private Individual Registered Toyota vehicles owners are eligible for Toyota Merit membership. Company-registered Toyota vehicles are not eligible for Toyota Merit membership.
| 4. |
Toyota Merit Programme is NOT a redemption programme. Toyota Merits have no cash value and are only used as a qualifying criterion for membership. Toyota Merits accumulated will be automatically recorded in the system, and once it reaches 4,000 Toyota Merits, an invitation to become a member will be sent to the Private Individual Registered Toyota vehicles owners.
| 5. |
An invitation to join Toyota Merit Programme does not constitute guaranteed membership. Successful activation of membership is subject to the receipt of the completed membership sign-up form by UMWT.
| 6. |
Invitation to Toyota Merit Programme is sent via 2 methods: |
| 6.1 |
Through Pos Malaysia to the mailing address provided by the customer or
| 6.2 |
Through email to the email address provided by the customer.
| 7. |
UMWT is not responsible for:
| 7.1 |
lost or mishandled mail by Pos Malaysia due to incorrect address provided by the customer. In the event that the address provided is correct but the invitation sent is lost or mishandled, UMWT is not responsible for such negligence on the part of Pos Malaysia.
| 7.2 |
lost emails due to incorrect email address provided by customer or any technical malfunction resulting in failure to extend the invitation email to customer successfully or failure for UMWT to receive customer’s reply to the invitation.
| 8. |
How Toyota Merits are calculated:
| 8.1 |
Purchase of a new Toyota (1% of OTR price = no. of Merits)
| 8.2 |
Service jobs at any Toyota Service Centre (RM1 = 1 Merit)
| 8.3 |
Repair jobs that are paid for by an insurance company (maximum 500 Merits only)
| 9. |
Toyota Merits calculation for a customer is a combination of all Toyota vehicles registered under the same Customer ID. In the event any of the vehicles is sold off by the customer, the Toyota Merits are still valid under the same Customer ID and is non-transferable. |
| 10. |
Only new Toyota vehicles purchased from UMWT’s authorized sales outlets are entitled to the 1% calculation of the vehicle’s OTR price. Toyota Merits earned from service jobs apply to all Toyota vehicles regardless of whether the vehicle was purchased new or second-hand.
| 11. |
Sales amount will be rounded up to the next Ringgit when the total sales include a fractional Ringgit of RM0.50 or more. Sales amount is taken, as the amount after Government Tax and Service Tax are added and it is the amount paid for by the customer. |
| 12. |
Toyota Merits will expire 5 years from the month earned.
| 13. |
Membership will be automatically renewed provided the member fulfills any one of the following criteria within 2 years from the month of joining/renewal:
| 13.1 |
Purchase of a new Toyota (1% of OTR price = no. of Merits)

| 13.3 |
