For our first workshop of 2012, Tribe Toyota's Road Survival Skills went East! East Malaysia, that is. The Hilton Hotel in Kuching, Sarawak was the place to be on 17 March 2012. Over 100 guests gathered there to partake in the popular workshop on personal safety and security while on the road.
After registration and a light breakfast, participants were ushered into the hall to meet the workshop instructor, Captain K. Bala. As a well-known safety activist, Captain K. Bala was certainly an expert in this field, with over two decades of experience in safety and rescue operations. Despite the seriousness of his profession, Captain K. Bala ensured that the workshop remained entertaining throughout, with jokes and light-hearted interaction with the participants.

In over two and a half hours, Captain K. Bala shared knowledge that could save lives and demonstrated various techniques that will come in handy during an emergency situation. For example, he showed everyone the right way to handle pepper spray and also educated the audience about the LifeHammer, a life-saving device which can break glass and cut seatbelts free if they ever get jammed after an accident. Best of all, the LifeHammer was then presented as a gift to all participants.

After Captain K. Bala delivered his closing words, participants headed out for a sumptuous lunch. Over the meal, they chatted about the life lessons they've learnt at Road Survival Skills. Looks like it was another homerun for Road Survival Skills!
