Hye Khaisin,

I think you might change lower arm too..bcoz mostly for the kluk2 sound came from mounting and lower arm but it depends on car..Some car change mounting already fix the probs. Some car have to change also the lower arm.

I think most SC(not dealer) should have no issues to change the part. I don't understand  why Segambut SC ask you to send to Shah Alam. Every SC should have the part. Or maybe they have long queue for the part and to speed up ordering the parts they ask u to go directly to Shah Alam..That might be the reason. Or you might try go to other SC and see what their answer/suggestion.

hye,

Noise came from the mounting & lower arm. It's a common problem for the 3rd gen vios. Juz go to the SC and make a complaint. They have been aware of this probs. Sure they will fix for U but it takes time to order the part. However not all of the owner affected. The ratio is 1:1000.

This is what SC told me..

Luckily, so far, my vios doesn't have the kluk kluk sound since I buy it and hope it will not have the sound.. But according to feedback from other vios owner's & SC experience that have kluk2 sound, they said after they change mounting and lower arm, the sound will disappear.

For the dashboard sound, mine experience only a few days within a week..Then suddenly the dashboard sound has gone till now...but many car owner also experienced the probs..they complain to SC and they will dismantle your dashboard to find where the sound came from..

The new Vios is totally a new car not a facelifted..Toyota use a lot of new product they try to the new vios. So that's why they need the feedback from owner to improve the car. It's like we are the mouse lab for Toyota..

Ok i will inform them the lower arm. but after you changed the lower arm and mounting. still have the sound? or completely silence. because i ask my forman, he said is either absorber ring or lower arm. and i wanna ask about the dashboard when i step on the break or go through those bumby road it have the ZEK ZEK sound came out. Actually what happen? is kinda sad for me to own a first car that have so much problem.. so sad

The ratio is 1:1000? Out of 8 friends of mine who owned the 3rd gen vios, 7 of them said that their lower arm and mounting are affected. The another one said his vios is OK, but when i drove his, ahhh the same kluk kluk problem, only that he not realize it, easy to say... he only drive from destination to another

Hi all....we got our vios in march last yearand its under my wife name n our car having all the prob that mentioned earlier in this thread....my mounting changed alredi n the prob seen to be solved..my rooftop prob solved when they installed new pad last week but yet to experienced it in heavy rain.my dashboard konpom ada bunyi n alredi komplain to sc....they solved it a bit n still hv some more noise( my komplain bunyi kat steering wheel since April a month after I got car still not resolved)....ill keep on komplain until I satisfied..when everithing seem to better for my vios...new prob arise....this time is about my power steering...my power steering dun wan to hv mengedik effect when we touch it....since our vios is using electric power steering, they tend to hv that mengedik effect when we touch it..kesan from that....my steering felt heavier n hard for me to handle it....its made my driving more unpleasant....dah le kena tolerate with dashboard noise, rooftop n mounting noise n now this.....ive alreadi komplain twice to sc n twice they said there r nothing wrong with my steering....i ask them to check it with j spec viosr n when we touch the stering, the steering mengedik as it should but mine r not.....n they still saying that there r nothing wrong with steering.....sigh.....there r no word to describe how disipointed we re with big brand TOYOTA n really regreat my decision to choose vios over preve that r much cheaper n more spec...at least with proton....with all the prob the monthly installment is cheaper n we malaysian kind a ready with all proton prob....BTW we sold our alreadi abis byr gen 2 n our pride n joy proton putra for kononnya one 'ultimate' better car. FYI saya mmg 'suka sangat' pegi sc berulang kali n cuti tahunan saya mmg khas utk trip to sc..boleh makan roti Massimo free...thank you TOYOTA for my 'memorable' experience with rm80k vios with overpriced oem bodykit...sigh...that I'll will cherish it with my friends.ARIGATO

Hi, I already changed all the engine mounting n lower arm. but the sound still there. i think mayb we can ask them to check the adsober mounting. I plan to do that on my next service.

QUOTE(AJW6717 @ 14 Mar 2015, 07:59 PM)

Last Tuesday I went to Toyota SC federal highway for changing right engine mounting.  Stock arrival quite earlier than they said. SC calls me to get an appointment for that. Review after changing right engine mounting, kluk sounds still there. But not as loud as before. 50% happy 50% disappointed. Next week I have to go to SC again for further check. Maybe lower arm. I hope this problem will resolve.

Toyota Vios is really a Milo Tin!!!

I was recently banged from behind by a Proton Saga. The Saga sustained light damage, while my Vios was badly damaged.

My frustration added up when I went back to Toyota to repair my car. They are not helpful at all. You have to get everything done by yourself, i.e extract first police report, extract final police report (at least 14 days after the first police report), JPJ search, claiming loss of use of car against 3rd party's insurer. Imagine if you a company's employee, you have to take leave many times to settle all those things.

When I asked them why are they not helping the customers to get everything done while the other panel workshops can offer ALL-IN-ONE service when we send our car to those workshops to repair? Their replied was "Not our normal practice"

They also rejected my request for a courtesy car during the repair period and told me that "It is not our normal practice".

The best part was my final bill came up to RM7,400.00 (claimed from insurance). Yes, you read it right, RM7,400.00 for a damaged back. My friend's Volvo S80 with a badly damaged front (includes headlights, bumpers, paintwork, labour, etc etc) only costed him RM11,000.00 when he sent back to Volvo to repair.

I find it very unfair to the customers, especially the new car owners, when Toyota Malaysia restricts/forbids the new car owners to send their cars to outside workshop during the 3 years/100,000km warranty period, failing which, your warranty will be deemed VOID.

If without such restriction from Toyota Malaysia, I can choose whichever Insurer's panel workshop I want. I can choose those workshop that can provide ALL-IN-ONE service plus a courtesy car during the repair period if not because of the funny restriction put up by Toyota Malaysia.

Toyota Malaysia already charged us so much when we bought their cars, and yet they still provide this kind of service?

The new Toyota Vios seems to have many problems. Toyota Malaysia is aware of them, but, they will not rectify it if you did not complain. Where is their integrity?

Still thinking of buying a Toyota? THINK AGAIN!

how come so expensive insurance claim?the whole back bumper only less than RM500.....

Now you know..... Toyota's parts and labour are not cheap. Initially they claimed even higher. But the adjuster had cut down their claims. Yet, it still costed RM7,400.000.....

After charging customers so much on their car price, parts and labour, they still provide this kind of service. So why should we buy Toyota in the first place? People should just go for Proton car.

Hi guys!

I'm very much surprise to read that the 2015 vios is having so many issues.

I'm driving the '06 G spec facelift model and so far i'm still having an awesome and smooth ride! Besides the wear and tear of the car parts, i would say my car is still in tip top condition. On top of that, my car's mileage is clocked at 319800km now. Accelaration is still powerful as well as the handling is smooth.

Many mechanics, car wash staffs or even toyota mechanics themselves told me the my '06 vios model is the best model in terms of durability and reliability. Many of them said cos the assembly at that time is still largely manual compared to fully auto assembly now (as in heavily depending on machines).

What FC are you guys getting with the new Vios? Till today i keep an Excel worksheet of my car's FC. I'm still enjoying RM0.12 per km or 15KM/liters or 6.67liters/100km. In fact end of March, i could go 621 km on a full tank, i really wonder what's the FC of the new vios now.

Just early this week, my car got bang from behind, and it's just the that is damaged. After repair, it's good to go. If it's really true the quality have dropped so much, i'm surprised. They could make such a good Vios 9 years ago, and now instead of improving, it's deteriorating? Please look in to this Toyota!
