wat tsfatt said is true.....best solution is to get an agent you are familiar with. However if thats not an option, perhaps you will find HLA as an alternative. Thus far my personal experience with HLA is good.
As long as the insurer allow "Agreed Value", I will buy from them..
Oh yes, many advices me to avoid Kurnia for whatever reason.. I didn't ask..
All this while I'm using MNI which now called ETIQA.. I use them because they have this thing called NCB protector... no matter how u claim, your NCB is protected.. Now this feature is removed because Bank Negara ban it.
A recent unpleasant claim experience has made me change my mind...
I have just renewed auto insurance for the 4th time for my 2005 Avanza. I was thinking to insure about RM38k max but amazingly I was offer RM43k \"Agreed Value\" for a car which I have bought 4 years ago for RM58k.
That's 15k in depreciation for 4 years, working out to about RM3.75k per year. What a great value this mini MPV offered! Still, that's about RM10.30 a day..
By the way, while I was looking for an insurance thread to post this, I found these 2 other interesting threads..
True also... since within warranty period, its highly advisable to get from the UMW insurance partner... which I didn't .. (come lunch TT and I'll tell u why.. )
I think within 1st 5 years, the insurer still allow new parts for your car but after 5 years, insurer will only allow used parts or does not allow full claim if new parts are used, under the so called \"betterment\" clause.
After all, the premium is regulated so u pay the same no matter from whom u buy the insurance from.
I was insured under Tokio Marines and once trying to get my windscreen replaced (I have the windscreen coverage). Thought since I have this Toyota panel insurance, it will be much easier for me but I was wrong. I was told to bear the cost and make a claim to TM later.
To cut the story short, I went to Doc. Cermin and walla, they replace my windscreen (original) and billed directly to my insurance. I don't have to pay a single cent. Job done within 2 hours.
